"I believe that when we learn to dance we are giving ourselves permission for joy. It is in and through the body that we live this life. Dance allows us to experience and share ourselves with others in a profound, honest expression. As a teacher I know that anyone with a will to learn to dance will learn to dance. It is my honor to be as committed to my students as they are to the dance.”

"Middle Eastern Dance is a celebration of the strength and beauty of humanity. It pulls from powerful ancient archetypal imagery, sacred geometry, elemental forces and cycles of nature. It is ancient and primal, powerful and hypnotic. Through its discipline a conduit is created for the dancer, a bridge between the ordinary and the divine; to walk that bridge is to invoke a kind of self-hypnosis, an ecstatic state. It is here that I invite you to join us."

Dear Friends,
This has been an amazing year. In October of 2006 we celebrate two important anniversaries, ten years since I founded Pomegranate Productions and thirty years of teaching. In 2005 Pomegranate Productions hosted five internationally acclaimed guest artists and produced over eighty shows with an unprecedented amount of original choreography. Pomegranate Studios has grown to offer over forty classes per week in a wide variety of movement arts, and classes are full. Mosaic Dance Company moved this year into its new home at the Eldorado Hotel and Ahatti Apprentice Company has moved to Annapurna. Most importantly the Pond Foundation stepped in to bring Pomegranate SEEDs to a new level. Currently fiscally sponsored by the Present Time Dream Factory, this year Pomegranate SEEDs will become its own non-profit organization, with its own Board of Directors and Fundraising Guild. In June we will be featured in Dance Magazine and I have been asked to address the Ms. Foundation at their annual meeting in Atlanta, GA. In every facet of our organization we have exceeded ourselves this year. I’m proud of what we stand for and what we’ve built. Pomegranate Productions now has a national reputation synonymous with excellence.
In Deepest Gratitude,

This past year has been a year of hard and fruitful labor. We hosted our first fundraiser for SEED at the Eldorado Hotel and have spent the year writing grants and seeking partnerships for this very important program. I am proud to say that SEED was featured by Dance Magazine in June 2006 and saluted by the Santa Fean in March 2007. Most importantly, in June 2007, I will facilitate our first National Teacher Certification for SEED hosted by St. John's College. It is our goal to see SEED implemented in every state of the United States by 2012.
Also this year, we formed our third dance company, Almaaz Assahara dedicated solely to the art of Egyptian style belly dance. Mosaic was invited to perform in Orlando, Florida with some of the top stars in our field and I am proud to say we were very well received. We hosted Sherefe at the Railyard Performance Center and have plans to bring Carolena Nerriccio, Suhaila Salimpour and others this coming year. I hope you'll take advantage of all the wonderful dance and music yet to come as well as our SEED Fundraiser that will take place toward the end of the summer. Thank you again for all of your support!
In deepest gratitude,
Myra Krien
